As founder of Thriven Partners, LLC, Melissa Álvarez Mangual’s extensive experience and strategic lifelong learning informs how she approaches her work as an executive and leadership coach. Her work is laser focused on cultivating bravery and strategic action in clients committed to being emotionally intelligent, inclusive and equitable leaders that transform organizational culture and practices.

Bio for Dr. Álvarez Mangual

A passionate leader, Melissa Álvarez Mangual, Ed.D. has been truly committed to establishing data-informed, successful, sustainable initiatives that effectively take organizational programs to the next level. Melissa is devoted to working with leaders in organizations who are ready and willing to dig deep in order to shift their mindsets, adopt positive habits, and demonstrate practices that will allow them to be more inclusive and equitable leaders, active champions for diversity, equity and inclusion, and agents for change.

Through coaching, Melissa has been able to successfully encourage dedicated individuals to take their personal and professional growth into their own hands. As a trustworthy and reliable thought and accountability partner, you can count on Melissa to provide you just the right challenge and support as you work to realize your goals. In her 20+ year career Melissa has worked in organizations like The Posse Foundation, Inc., The Pennsylvania State University, Habitat for Humanity International, and The Nature Conservancy.

Melissa’s knowledge and skill is derived from her professional work experience and formal studies. She has earned a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, MA; a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from DePaul University, Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from Florida State University. She is also part of the first global cohort of The PowerMBA, committed to staying up-to-date on the best disruptive innovation practices in business. 

Active service and involvement in professional organizations is a priority for Melissa, and something she is incredibly proud of. Melissa is based in Chicago, IL in the United States of America. She serves on the board of directors for the Executive Service Corps, a USA based nonprofit organization. She has served as a Fellow for the Intercultural Communication Institute and earned the Intercultural Foundations Certificate. She has earned certificates in Executive and Change Leadership through Cornell University. Melissa also holds various certifications, including:

Michele Aikens, ACC is Lead Coach of Sepia Prime Communications & Coaching. She is a certified professional coach and credentialed member of the International Coach Federation (ICF). Her areas of specialty include executive women, transitional, non-profit and leadership team coaching. She enjoys particularly working with executives over 50. Aikens consults with non-profits and growing businesses in the areas of leadership, team and change strategies. Aikens has more than 30 years’ experience in training, consulting and team development. She helps individuals and teams navigate challenges with insight and humor. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
